Lena Kasparian at the Pacific Runway Fashion Show
On Friday 30th of October Lena Kasparian participated in the 2015 Pacific Runway Fashion Show held at Carriageworks, Sydney. As the show she exhibited her Black Panther Collection. The Black Panther collection was inspired by the valor and elegance of the Black Panther. The Black Panther is one of the most intriguing and mysterious animals on the planet. Through its gracious stance and captivating eyes the panther embodies the seamless blend of beauty and power. Known as the feline of the night, the Black Panther is a symbol of both fortitude and femininity. Lena Kasparian wanted to capture the nature of this ancient goddess of the jungle through a monochrome colour palette, precision and elegance. In the collection each design personifies the grace and sophistication of the Black Panther. The collection was created to make women feel glamorous and empowered just as the Panther presents itself. After all the beauty of fashion is that it has the capability to change the way we feel and embrace our true nature, as Lena Kasparian describes. Lena carefully packed and prepared the looks for the show the night before to be ready in the morning.
Early Friday afternoon we the Lena Kaspaparian team arrived at Carriageworks and made way to the back of house to have final fittings with the models. Once we organised and unpacked all the dresses, one by one we began fitting the dresses to their assigned model and made adjustments accordingly. We noted the order of the looks and dismissed the models to allow them practice their runway walks.
While the models practiced, the back of house including hair and make up artist, designers and assistants were busy preparing for the night’s show. We the Lena Kasparian team, organised the dresses in the correct order and double-checked that all the dresses and gowns were freshly steamed. Ensuring everything was ready to go before the arrival of the first guests.
At 6.00pm the doors of the venue were opened for the VIP guests. All VIP guests were ushered into the VIP lounge were complimentary canapés and drinks were served. They also had the chance to meet and greet the designers including Lena Kasparian.
The Fashion Show began at 7.00pm with an introduction and live entertainment. Lena Kasparian’s designs were 5th in the show so we had to stand by ready for action. Once the first group of models finished their walk we began prepping the models for the Lena Kasparians run. The runway consisted of 18 looks including, jumpsuits, cocktails dresses, evening gowns and couture gowns. Lena chose Thomas Bergensen’s Sonera as her music piece for the show as it contributed to the sense of empowerment and elegance created by her designs. As we had 18 looks we had to have a few quick changes during the run to ensure it ran smoothly. As the models returned for their walk they had to quickly change into their next outfit. By 8.30 the Lena Kasparian run was successfully completed and the looks were all organised into their garment bags.
At 10.00pm the show was concluded and it was a complete success, the show ran to plan and the audience was pleased. It was an exciting night for all and it was an amazing experience and event for Lena Kasparian to have been apart of.
